Abstract: The Arnowitt-Deser-Misner (ADM) and the Baumgarte-Shapiro-Shibata-Nakamura (BSSN) equations, as two important formulations of Einstein's field equations in numerical relativity, will be presented. Both of these formulations will be described for a spherically symmetric spacetime and with a focus on the BSSN equations, the usual numerical methods used for finding a solution will be detailed. Lastly, we will discuss our numerical solutions obtained with the aforementioned methods.
