Visa & Invitations

Visitors from non-EU Countries must posses a passport valid for at least the next 3 months. Participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to a consular office or a diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in their country in order to avoid a delayed arrival to the congress. If visa is required, please find the address of the Czech embassy in your country on the website: http://www.mzv.cz/wwwo/mzv/default.asp?id=25931&ido=7306&idj=2&amb=1. Please note that the visa application procedure can take approximately up to two months. It is not possible to obtain visa at the Prague Airport.

The Congress Secretariat will send you on request an invitation letter to be used for this purpose. An invitation letter can be sent also if your institution requires it.

An official invitation by the Foreigners' Department of the Czech Police

The organizers strictly adhere to the principle of the free circulation of scientists. At the same time, they have to respect the procedures introduced by the goverments to ensure international security. In some cases the Czech Embassies around the world are bound to require an official invitation certified by the Foreigners‘ Department of the Czech Police. This invitation can be arranged for registered participants of the ICMP only and its cost of 60 EUR will be charged to the applicant.

As soon as the required data and the said payment are received (in case of doubt the Conference Secretariat can be contacted for a detailed instruction) together with the payment of the registration fee we will start the procedure of issuing the official invitation for you. It usually takes a few weeks; when the document is ready it will be mailed by an express delivery service on the cost of the receiving party. By providing this official invitation the Conference Secretariat (Congress Business Travel) does not assume any financial obligations as regards the travel, hotel and registration costs of the respective delegate.
